My Story

Many women, men, and children need to lose weight for many reasons. My reason was I have a severe history of fibrosis which was taking over my life. Since the age of twelve, I suffered excruciating cramps and heavy periods. As an adult, the cramping and heavy periods increased. I also began having anxiety and panic attacks. In my late 30’s I had two different surgeries to have my fibrosis—which would come back every year and a half—removed.

My primary care physician referred me to Thomas E. Melchione, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. 916-920-2082. When I had my consult with him, he made it very clear to me I would need to lower my glucose/sugar in order to perform my hysterectomy. I did a full 360 degree, created my weight loss plan “Hawthorne’s Health” and had my hysterectomy on 7-11-09. Thomas E. Melchione, M.D., is a witness and testament to my weight loss journey.
